The University of Spiritual Awakening, Inc. is a non-denominational, non-profit, independent Christian church chartered and located in the state of Georgia. We are based in North Georgia near the mountain community of Ellijay.
We are a church
but our name includes the term “university” because of our strong emphasis on teaching and studying — about who we are as Sons of God and why we are here on earth. We believe man is asleep concerning his True Identity and that each person must experience his own spiritual awakening — to awaken to his true Nature as a Son of God.
Our mission
is to assist mankind to “Wake Up and Live!” by presenting the Message of Life that will minister health to the whole person: spirit, mind, and body. Our mission is also to train and equip ministers — those who feel a calling of God on their lives to serve and minister Life, first to themselves and then to others. This definition of minister is not as man has defined the role of minister. We do not seek a large following or man’s recognition or fame, as is the case with so many of man’s religions, but we do humbly and joyously welcome all who sincerely desire to partake of this Message of Life.
Our history
spans more than 30 years. The church was first formed in the 1970s in New Orleans as Because He Lives Ministries, also known as the Because He Lives School of Ministry. In the 1980s, the church moved to California where it served residents for 21 years. During our time in San Diego, we were led of God to change the ministry’s name from a “School” of Ministry to the University of Spiritual Awakening, emphasizing a higher level of teaching being offered. In 2003 the church was inspired of God to move to the Nashville area, and finally in 2007 we relocated to Ellijay, Georgia. Throughout the years we have been led by the Spirit of God in each move and in each type of outreach offered (weekly church classes, radio, television, publishing The Book of Lillie, etc). Our senior minister, Dr. Lillie, founded the ministry in the 1970s and has continuously served in her role since the inception of the church.

This book describes the Message of Life that we teach.
We are a Bible-based church, and we believe the Message of the Kingdom of God and the God-kind of Life-forms as described in the Bible. We also believe the Scriptures that say our bodies are the temple of God. Therefore we have a responsibility to do “temple maintenance” to maintain a healthy body in which we may serve God.
Services We Offer
* Fellowship, worship services, and gatherings with like-minded individuals who are committed to knowing and living out Truth.
* Written materials and audio and video recordings that will assist you in overcoming illusions about God, man, yourself, the universe, and personal addictions.
* Classes on how to cleanse and purify the physical body; how to enhance health through proper diet; and classes on exercise, lifestyle changes, colon cleansing, and fasting. * Radio broadcasts sent via shortwave radio around the globe (the radio broadcasts can also be heard over the Internet at www.wwcr.com). We envision increasing our radio outreach to include more time broadcasting each day and more radio outlets, and we also envision a television outreach as the Lord opens these doors.
About Giving – Donations
We do not believe God is broke, nor do we believe that those sent by God to do His work are ever asked by God to beg for money. Where God guides, God provides. We look to God, Who has sent us, to finance His work. God does not buy or sell, or lend or borrow. He simply gives, and that is why we do not charge a fee for any service we provide. What we have received from God, we received for free. How could we then charge a price for it? Furthermore, it is a priceless gift.
We are aware that God has placed in the care of His chosen servants across the earth ALL of the talents, ideas, connections, land, buildings, and technologies needed to manifest the Kingdom of God on earth and in mankind. If you feel led of God to support our work through giving any of these gifts, or if you wish to give a charitable financial contribution, know that we will use your gift as the Lord leads us, however or wherever He leads us to use it. The leadership of the UOSA is mindful of our responsibility to be good stewards of all that our Father entrusts to us, and we look to Him for how to use the resources He provides.
